art hike!
Making art outside is one of my most favorite things. So I’m going to lead a short-ish hike (about a 4 mile loop) on Mt. Tam to do just that. We’ll fold in a little group meditation, and stop at a few points along the way for some art-making time.
All media / disciplines are welcome – writing, photography, drawing, painting, field recording, music... as long as you can carry it, and it’s not too loud or otherwise harmful to the forest, bring whatever it is that you want to work with.

LOGISTICS:
date: Saturday, Dec. 6th
timing: We’ll start at 9:30am. The hike itself is about 4 miles, but because we’ll be stopping along the way, I’m planning to be back at the trailhead by midafternoon.
location: Rock Springs Trailhead (there’s plenty of parking)
what to bring:
Supplies for whatever you want to make art with – paper and pens, a notebook you want to write in, a camera, etc. It can be wet up there this time of year, so use your judgment re: electronics and sensitive gear. I’m happy to share if there’s something I can bring for you – just let me know in the form below.
Outdoor clothing – the weather up there is unpredictable, so bring warm layers and good / waterproof shoes. There’s also poison oak around; I’d suggest long pants & high socks.
Food & water; I’ll bring some light snacks to share, but you should bring enough water for the day and a lunch if you want it. There’s no drinkable water on the trail.
Payment: I’d love to do this kind of thing more – your support will help make that possible! Suggested donation is $10-50, but I don’t want money to be a barrier for anyone. Pay what you can.
