A Gut Indecision
Steel, motor, battery, paint
This sculpture was inspired by a lack of inspiration. I wanted to capture the feeling of not quite being able to start, to be staring at a blank page, to be paralyzed by the infinity of possible choices. It ended up being sort of creature-like in form, a mechanical being that’s forever almost committing to a choice.
It’s all welded and painted steel, powered by a single motor. I was interested in how the relentlessness of one turning motor would feel when combined with a much less precise, more frictional, more complex movement.
